The library of the GFGC was established since its inception in the year 2006. The library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents that is useful for the faculty and students. The library has a collection of 11895 books and periodicals which include 15 national journals and one international journal with 6 magazines.

The primary aim of the library is to support the educational programs of the college by providing physical and intellectual access to information, consistent with the present and the anticipated educational functions of the college. In accordance with the vision of the college, the library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for the faculty and students community of the college. The rich and valuable collection built over the years has some of the good reference materials and several important documents. This collection of knowledge, on a conservative estimate, is worth over Rs. 77 lakhs.

The library has taken the initiative to completely automate the library by installing E-Granthalaya 4.0 Cloud Version (Software from National Informatics Centre, Department of Information Technology, New Delhi), a library management software package with all the modules for use in the library. 

ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು  ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಪೂರೈಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರತವಾಗಿದೆ. 2006-07ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಆರಂಭದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾದ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ಹಂತ ಹಂತವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬಹುತೇಕ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಭಾಗದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿದ್ದು ಅವರ ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಸರ್ವತೋಮುಖ ಅಬಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ  11895 ವಿಷಯವಾರು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು, 22 ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳು, NLIST ಸದಸ್ಯತ್ವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದು ವರ್ಷ ವರ್ಷ ಇವುಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಏರುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳಲ್ಲದೇ ಅನೇಕ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಮತ್ತು ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ದಿನಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ತರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಎರವಲು ಪಡೆಯಲು, ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಾಮರ್ಶಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ದಿನ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಲು 95ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ಅಥವಾ ಇ-ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಒಳಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನ್ಲೈನ್ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಲ ತಾಣವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಿಕಾ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು

ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಎರವಲು ಸೇವೆ (Circulations)

ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಎರವಲು ಸೇವೆ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ 

ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಎರವಲು ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಮತ್ತು ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ

ಎರಡು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಅಂತಿಮ ವರ್ಷದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ತೀರ ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ 

ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹದಿನೈದು ದಿನಗಳ ಅವಧಿಗೆ ಎರವಲು ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ಐದು 

ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಸೆಮಿಸ್ಟರ್‍ಗೆ ಎರವಲು ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಪರಾಮರ್ಶನ ಸೇವೆ (Reference/Referral Service)

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಪರಾಮರ್ಶನ 

ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುವ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು 

ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಅಗತ್ಯತೆ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಈ ಸೇವೆ ಲಭ್ಯ.

ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟಜಾತಿ/ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬುಕ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಸೇವೆ (SC/ST Book Bank Facility)

ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಂಗಡದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬುಕ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಇದ್ದು. ಬುಕ್ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಸೇವೆಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ 

ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿ ಸೆಮೆಸ್ಟರ್ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರವಲು ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಈ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ನಿಯಮದಂತೆ 

ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪಂಗಡದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಸೀಮಿತ. 

ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವೃತ್ತಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳು (Magazines and Journal Section)

ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಚಲಿತ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅರಿವು 

ಮೂಡಿಸುವ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಅನೇಕ ವೃತ್ತ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ತರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, 

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ತರಗತಿಯ ಬಿಡುವಿನ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವೃತ್ತಪತ್ರಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು 

ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಓದಲು ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ಅನ್ಲೈನ್ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸೇವೆಗಳು (Online Access to E-Resources)

ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುಗರಿಗೆ ಅನ್ಲೈನ್ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪರಿಕರಗಳ 

ಮೂಲಕ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅನ್ಲೈನ್ ಅಥವಾ ಇಂಟರ್ನೆಟ್ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಿಂದ ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಮುಂದಿನ 

ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಎನ್-ಲಿಸ್ಟ್ (N-LIST) ಅನ್ಲೈನ್ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ದತ್ತಾಂಶಕ್ಕೆ ಚಂದಾದಾರಾಗುವುದರ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ 

ಇ-ಕಂಟೆಂಟ್ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ರಿಪ್ರೊಗ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಸೇವೆಗಳು (Reprographic (Photocopy) Services)

ತೀರ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಪೋಟೋಕಾಫಿ ಅಥವಾ ಜೆರಾಕ್ಸ್ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಹಿಂದಿನ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳ ಬಳಕೆ (Question Bank Facility)

ಹಿಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಾಮರ್ಶಿಸಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ವೆಬ್ 

ತಾಣದ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹಿಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಾಮರ್ಶಿಸಬಹುದು.

ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗೆ ಬೆಂಬಲ (Research & Publication Support)

ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೊಡಗಲು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಬಂಧಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗೆ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರೀತಿಯ 

ಬೆಂಬಲ ಮತ್ತು ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವುದು. ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಲೇಖನಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ 

ಸೂಕ್ತ ನಿಯತಕಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯ ಸಲಹೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೇ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಾಪಕರ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗಳನ್ನು 

ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷರತೆ (Information Literacy Programs)

ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ಬಳಕೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅನ್ಲೈನ್ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಬಳಕೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷರತೆಯಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 

ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ವರ್ಷದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ನೆಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೇ 

ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯದ ವೆಬ್ಸೈಟ್ ಮೂಲಕ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು.

ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ (Counselling for Higher Studies)

ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮುಂದುವರೆಸುವ ಪದವಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅವರ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳ ಆಧಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ 

ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಉನ್ನತ ಪದವಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅವುಗಳ ಕುರಿತ 

ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು.

 General Instructions

 

Ø  All library users are required to enter their names and sign in the Entry Register provided 

at the entrance of the library.

 

Ø  First & Second year BA, B.Com and BBM students can borrow 2 books at a time from the 

library for a period of 14 days, final year students can borrow 3 books.

 

Ø  Single renewal is generally allowed. More than one renewal is allowed if and only if multiple 

copies are available.

 

Ø  Library books should be returned on or before the due date. Please note that if a 

student habitually returns books late, it could result in suspension of library borrowing privileges 

of that student. 

All borrowed books must be returned and library dues (if any) must be settled in a timely manner.

 

Ø  Borrowers are expected to replace lost / damaged books with a new book(s) within the 

stipulated time.

 

Ø  Personal items (such as books / folders / files / blazers / jerkins / purses etc.) are not allowed 

in the library.

 

Ø  Reference sources like Journals / Magazines in the library will not be issued. 

 

Ø  All library users are expected to maintain silence in the library at all times. 

 

Ø  All borrowed books must be returned and dues must be settled prior to receiving 

admission ticket to take examinations.

 Cell phones are strictly prohibited.
